Keston’s ‘Prompt Service’ is a winning match for QPR
2011 Championship football winners QPR are the proud owners of a Keston C55 rig that has allowed them to continue their success in the Premier League by working with Keston to resolve an awkward situation, a challenge that may have cost them Premier League status had they not accommodated Sky Sports and the BBC!
The club were under pressure from league officials to ensure hot water was available after their first Premier League home game and time wasn’t on their side. Realising that Keston can provide a bespoke service Tim Ayres from Prompt Services wasted no time to invite Keston’s Mark Tully along to Loftus Road where they assessed the specification for the boiler room.
Prompt Services were confronted with regulations that meant the boiler room had to be split in half to allow space for both BBC Sport and Sky Sports interview rooms. Tim was also faced with the challenge of flueing the system quite a distance to the nearest outside wall. Luckily for Tim, with Keston….everything is possible.
With QPR’s first home game due to take place just weeks away the pressure was certainly mounting, Mark managed to submit technical specification drawings to Prompt Services with the support of the Keston Design team in Romania and this ensured efficient turn around times. Once the specification was approved the lead time was vital for Tim and his colleagues, to make sure they completed the installation in time for the opening match.
Tim was extremely pleased with the service Keston provided and told us “no other manufacturer could meet the requirements of the specification to replace the existing inefficient system that was running 24/7, so the decision was made simple to let Keston help us achieve the strict deadline set by QPR”.
The threat of a considerable fine drove Keston and Prompt Services to work together and ensure neither the club or Tim and his team would incur any charges for not being able to complete the work needed, to adhere to the demands of league officials before the opening game. The fear of QPR not able to hold their first home game as a newly promoted club wasn’t on the agenda for either Tim or Mark.
Since the boiler was installed at the stadium the club have continued to host home games without concern over whether hot water is available, thanks to continuous support from the Keston Heating team and the ongoing relationship with Prompt Services. Tim advised us “Keston will always be our first choice for future installations, as a result of the excellent service and support we have received throughout the work carried out at QPR”.
