KESTON’S LARGEST DOMESTIC INSTALLATION
Keston Boilers has completed its largest domestic single house installation in its 11-year history of specialism in high-efficiency condensing gas boilers. The record-breaker is a 21-bedroom property for a single family - an unusually large home with a fantastic history. Keston designed a four-boiler rig to meet several challenging obstacles, such as producing sufficient and constant heating for eight bathrooms.
Originally, the building was a Manor House in Essex; it was later used as a school and currently stands in Kingston as a family home. A complete new system was required to meet the building’s extensive heating and hot water needs. Keston was specified for this installation primarily due to its innovative flue technology, a key factor for the contractor who was aware that flexibility in this instance was an essential element. The time and complexity savings, provided by Keston’s pre-fabrication service, were also important.
Another consideration for the contractor was the boilers’ capacity and output that had to meet the heavy demands that would be placed on them. Keston designed a fully bespoke rig, consisting of four C55 boilers, for the basement plant room. This was an unusual rig because the boilers were all inline to suit the plant room layout.
Dave Gregory from Chelmdon Mechanical Services referred to the rig as being “perfect for the project.” He continued: “The boilers have been installed for five months now and we have had no problems whatsoever. I am delighted with Keston’s service and very happy with the product.”
Chelmdon Mechanical Services have already specified 15 Keston C25 boilers for a block of flats in Windsor.
