KESTON STARS ON CHANNEL 4’s ‘GRAND DESIGNS’
Following a UK-wide search for extraordinary homes featuring correctly specified and effective heating systems, Upper Upthorpe Farm in Gloucestershire was selected to appear on Channel 4’s ‘Grand Designs’, showcasing two of Keston Boilers’ superior product lines, the C55 modulating condensing boiler and the Spa 300 unvented water storage system.
Jeremy and Louise Brown, the dream-home owners, required instant hot water on all floors of their three-level property, including high water pressure for their three bathrooms. The couple’s state of the art walk-in shower, jacuzzi, tapless bath system and old-style cast-iron 210-litre radiators, were key in Grand Designs’ selection process for unusual and demanding bathroom features.
Their architects specified Keston’s C55 high efficiency wall-mounted gas boiler unit, designed for large environment central heating and indirect sanitary hot water supply. The C55 is SEDBUK A-rated to 90.2 per cent, offering the Browns top performance and an estimated 30 per cent fuel saving. The unit is manufactured to ISO 9001, is CE marked, and in 2003, took first place at the H&V News Awards for Industrial/Commercial H&V Product of the Year.
The Spa 300, a perfect match for the C55, boasts superior performance, a high-grade stainless steel coil and cylinder body with rapid heat recovery, which is exceptionally cost-effective, eco-friendly and durable. Unlike many other water storage systems, the Spa features an external expansion vessel, designed for water storage at full tank volume and does not require anodes.
Mr Brown said: “For our dream home, we wanted our heating system to run off-mains and be compatible with our distinctly powerful water requirements. Having dealt with Keston Boilers, my wife and I were very impressed with their efficient and prompt service, a sheer pleasure to deal with.”
