Training Information
Keston understand that as a heating engineer, you want the confidence and knowledge to be able to install and service a wide range of products.
With this in mind, we have created a series of one and two day product training courses on all of our domestic and commercial boilers, and renewable technologies.
Providing a mix of hands-on and theory based classroom learning, each Keston training course has been designed specifically with the heating engineer in mind.

Domestic boilers
High Efficiency Boiler Training Courses – 1 day
Courses are available on the following products:
• C range of boilers 30C and C36 - all courses are 1 day
• Q range of boilers Q28s, Q28h & Q37H - all courses are 1 day
These comprehensive one day courses can be mixed and matched for individual installation and servicing companies. The course uses a simple step-by-step approach with hands-on training to ensure all aspects of commissioning, servicing, and fault finding can be dealt with quickly and efficiently.
Each course covers the following:
• Product range overview
• Product specification
• Application and installation of products
• Electronic circuits and components
• Flue and accessory options
• Component overview, change and repair
• User controls
• Sequence of operation
• Fault finding
• Commissioning
The course involves discussion with tutors and demonstrations with practical advice. Lunch and refreshments are provided and a certificate is awarded upon completion.

Light commercial boilers
Light Commercial Boiler Training Courses – 1 day
Courses are available on the following products:
• C45, C55, C90 & C110 & modular rigs - all courses are 1 day
These comprehensive one-day courses can be mixed and matched for individual installation and servicing companies. The course uses a simple step-by-step approach with hands-on training to ensure all aspects of commissioning, servicing, and fault finding can be dealt with quickly and efficiently.

New energy solutions
New Energy Appreciation Courses – 1 day
One day basic courses on Solar Thermal, Solar Photovoltaics, Air Source and Ground Source heat pump systems; perfect if you’re interested in moving into new energy solutions, but don’t know where to start. These introductory courses provide a brief overview of the technologies and a chance to ask all of those burning questions.
Courses are available on the following:
• Solar Thermal systems
• Solar Photovoltaics
• Air Source heat pumps
• Ground Source heat pumps
Each course covers the following:
• Introduction to new energy solutions
• Different installation designs
• Practical session (for solar, this takes place on a purpose-built roof)
• Setting up and installing different controls
• Identifying parts
These courses involve one-to-one discussions with tutors, demonstrations and practical advice. Lunch and refreshments are provided and a certificate is awarded upon completion.
Price £100.00 (incl VAT) per person
BPEC Solar Thermal Training Course – 2 day
An in-depth three day solar BPEC training course, leading to full solar accreditation upon completion. This course is recognised by all Microgeneration Certification Schemes (MCS).
The course utilises a mixture of classroom and hands-on based learning, with a proportion of the course spent working on a low level, purpose-built roof. The course is concluded with an examination at the end of day three. Successful completion of the training and assessment will provide training evidence for individuals to include within their applications for MCS accreditation.
The course covers the following:
• Introductionto solar thermal systems
• System sizing
• Installing solar
• Installing and setting up solar controllers
• Commissioning service
• Maintenanceand servicing
• Concluding examination
Lunch and refreshments are provided during the course.

BPEC Solar Photovoltaics Training Course – 3 day
This practical and in-depth three day Solar Photovoltaics BPEC training course is designed for heating engineers and electricians alike. Utilising both classroom and hands-on based learning through the use of a purpose-built low-level roof, this course is an essential for all modern installers interested in new energy solutions. Upon completion of the course, full accreditation will be awarded. This course is recognised by all Microgeneration Certification Schemes (MCS). Successful completion of the training and assessment will provide training evidence for individuals to include within their applications for MCS accreditation.
The course covers the following:
• Introduction to Solar Photovoltaics
• System sizing
• Installing Solar Photovoltaics
• Setting up Solar Photovoltaics controllers
• Commissioning
• Maintenance and servicing
• Concluding examination
Lunch and refreshments are provided during the course.

BPEC Air Source & Ground Source Heat Pump Training Course – 2 days
An in-depth two day BPEC Air Source and Ground Source heat pump training course designed for the practical new energy engineer. Upon completion of the course, full accreditation will be awarded. This course is recognised by all Microgeneration Certification Schemes (MCS).
The course utilises a mixture of classroom and hands-on based learning, with a proportion of the course being spent working on live products. Successful completion of the training and assessment will provide training evidence for individuals to include within their applications for MCS accreditation.
The course covers the following:
• Introduction to heat pump systems
• System sizing
• Installing heat pumps
• Installing and setting up heat pump controllers
• Commissioning
• Maintenance and servicing
• Concluding examination
Lunch and refreshments are provided during the course.
